DIY Idler Wheel Turntable
The Rek-o-Kut L-34 has a tiny top plate, which makes it perfect to show off this incredible walnut burl veneer. I bookmatched the veneer around six layers of 3/4" baltic birch that makes up the plinth, then I finished it with five coats of shellac flakes mixed with denatured alcohol. I built this turntable to run both 12" and 9" tonearms.
Each tonearm fits into round plates that inset into the plinth held in place by three bolts. The tonearm is a 12" unipivot built by Manuel Masangkay from Canada.

I love everything about this turntable, and am in the process of recreating it with a camphor veneer. I went out and found an L-34, but was hoping you would PM me. I am new to plinth building and would really appreciate any tips.
