TB-3/1000 power amplifier

The power amplifiers in my set are based on the TB-3/1000 transmitting triode. This is comperable to the American 833A. The complete audio-line consists of: input transformer - 6SN7 - interstage - 300B - interstage - TB-3/1000 - output transformer. Echt power amplifier (monoblock) has its dedicated power supply below it in the audiorack. In total the amp does weigh 350 kgs.
At 1400 volt on the anode you will have 100 Watt single-ended Class A2 (triode is positive grid driven). The anode becoms quite redhot; this is normal and even signals proper functioning.

  • Good morning Head, sorry for the very late reply.
GM100's: now THAT is a serious great tube.
Of course i built a stereo-pair. It took time but was worth the effort. Can you please send me your email-adress so we can share info / data / schematics.
    Regards, Reinout
