SOUP

I like the Accuton/Thiel units. They are very fast and quite uncoloured. Commercial designs tend to become quite pricey ... time to go DIY again.

The cabinets are built of 3 cm MDF and 6 cm at the baffle; there is some serious bracing in the cabinets. The filter is simple. But because of the high quality of the components the complete filter became too large to incorporate them into the cabinet; so now the filter is external. All wiring is solid silver.

The power amplifier does not have difficulty driving these 89 db affairs and the bass is very well controlled.

  • Very impressive looking speakers . I’m wondering how you cut the facets ?
Is there a build thread anywhere ?
Love your idea for outboard crossovers ,as I never understood putting something that can vibrate inside an enclosure with a woofer
