goldwang V40-PSE
My first tube amplifier was born out of pure curiosity, as it may sound. A kit (from the German company "Ritter" - which unfortunately does not exist anymore) was ordered quickly and not quite as quickly assembled. 2 KT88 in PSE mode (wired as triode, without feedback) with an ECC83 driver bring about 16 watts into 8 ohms.
The housings for the two monos are made of MDF frames, which I have veneered with olive wood. Sounds really good and survives even a longer party without complaining ...
I have supplemented the amplifier with a mains filter and an anode voltage control. If I would build the amplifier again today, I would rather install a tube rectification...
