Richard's new speakers

WOOFER: JBL 1500AL (15", AlNiCo magnet, cellulose diaphragm, SFG, double damper)

WOOFER BOX: Bass-Reflex, Vb = 4.5 cu.ft = 127 L, Fb = 30Hz. Made out of birch plywood, extensively braced.

MID: JBL 2450SL (4"-diaphragm, 1.5"-exit 'throat-less' compression driver, Neodymium magnet, 'Coherent Wave' phase plug) + Truextent BeX4008 Beryllium diaphragm

MID HORN: My own design, inspired by Yuichi Arai's work.
Radial hypex expansion, Fc = 320Hz, T = 0.7. Made out of birch plywood, with CFRP throat adaptor.

TWEETER: JBL 045Be-1 (1"-Beryllium diaphragm, 1cm-exit compression driver).

TWEETER HORN: My own design, inspired by Yuichi Arai's work.
Radial hypex expansion, Fc = 2kHz, T = 0.7. Made out of marble powder + resin.

PASSIVE CROSSOVER: My own design, inspired by Shozo Kinoshita's work.
Crossover frequencies are 700Hz and 7kHz.
6th-order Woofer Low-Pass; 2nd-order Mid Band-Pass; 2nd-order Tweeter High-Pass.
Mundorf coils and Jantzen capacitors.
Mid attenuated with Someya autotransformer; Tweeter attenuated with Mundorf MOx resistors.

    Any update on your project ?

    I am considering a similar project using the S9900 driver compliment and the Yuichi horns.

    Here in the States the 1500 AL is unobtanium. Where did you source yours ? I have some close friends in the UK that could purchase and ship them for me. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
