Aikido headphone amp based on the boards by Broskie (Tube CAD).

It uses 6CG7 RCA clear top and 6H30DR, fully regulated supplies (Salas shunt reg for B+) and custom made C-Core output transformers made by AE Europe.

The frame is CNC cut from Ureol, a very high density foam and painted in matte grey (body colour from Mercedes SLS AMG).

The psu is housed in a separate enclosure and connected via braided wires and XLR connectors.

  • @martin:
    I can only encourage you.
I started out with close to zero knowledge about tubes... but what a reward after building something like this!
Thank you for the kind words!

  • Stunning workmanship and design Stixx. I'm not familiar with Ureol, is yours painted after machining?
    Cheers, Mark.

  • Hi Mark,
ureol is a very high density foam (dense like wood), sanded, primered and painted.
I have to admit that I had helping hands :)
    Cheers,
    Oliver
