Headphone Tube Amp
I found Roger Gomez description of the NP-100v12 tube amp a few weeks ago and decided to build one based on his excellent description and the feedback of many people who have build this. I have almost no experience in DIY audio, not to speak of tubes, but the sound of my grandma's old tube radio always fascinated me.
I did get most of the parts from local dealers here in Germany and put it on a stripboard. Due to my lack of experience, I might not have followed all audiophile rules for signal routing and grounding, however, it sounds quite well for my ears. I even got a nice aluminum enclosure by Hammond which fits quite nicely, the unit is powered by an old HP printer PS which feeds an onboard 7812, no other PS filtering, yet I do not notice any hum, just silence.
