Full-range open baffle speakers
I used new old stock Plessey 8 inch full-range drivers made in New Zealand in the 1970s. Mounted in NZ waxed pine boards with connectors soldered directly to the tags. The sound is open and detailed. Cost NZ$200 total.
Partnered with an REL Quake sub-bass powered system.
I would not go back to boxed multiple drivers - they sound 'boxy' in comparison.
I play jazz rock fusion, blues, folk, etc.
